earworm, with extra specificity

for no reason that i can trace or fathom, my inner soundtrack is stuck on a repeat-loop of jimmy buffett’s “pencil-thin mustache.” the nice–or maybe just additionally-random-in-case-we-needed-more–thing about inner soundtracks is that they can replay anything you’ve ever heard with your inner tape-recorder, too; you don’t need to have heard the song actually captured in real media. which doesn’t explain but at least allows for why it’s not actually buffett singing in my head, it’s l_stboy.

I was shooting pool with some Swiss guys, my office mate and a couple of nights ago, and put AC/DC “Who Made Who”, Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion”, and Jimmy Buffet doing “Pirate Looks at 40” on the jukebox, and sang along to every single one of them ๐Ÿ˜›

Then its flat top, dirty bob, coppin a feel
Grubbin on the livin room floor (so sore)

…yeah, i told you i won’t listen to that last one, & my friend the songbird’s not allowed to sing it, either, b/c it always wants to make me soggy, a state that echo of your voice certainly contributes to. it’s a good sort of soggy, the “makes me smell salt water” & the “and gives me chills” sort, but it does tend to derail one from whatever accomplishment one was working towards when the interruption struck.
::smooches for you, m’love:: there’s just nothing else for it. ๐Ÿ˜‰
