note to a friend

22 02 2008

“i’d like to blaze your astrophysics,” she says with her best glower, her voice a chord, one tone an implication, like it’s tawdry innuendo you can’t quite parse, another half a question-mark, the sound of verbal gymnastics-stunts with no net underneath.

it doesn’t mean anything. still, you know better than to look, after she says it; her eyes are deadly serious.

heh. the overstaging is why i shouldn’t write fiction, but when you’ve *practiced* writing years of (never-to-be-published) overstaged fiction, it’s hard sometimes not to see yourself in scenes of the stuff.

Luckily I can be sure you don’t mean me. I left my astrophysics in my other suit.
